Last year, as a part of the Greensboro Exchange with Richmond Memorial Hospital Foundation, we visited several Greensboro nonprofits and businesses. As a cultural hub, The Historic Magnolia House was a perfect location to discuss community wellness strategies, the immigrant experience, and economic mobility.
The Magnolia House Foundation, Inc. is a Nurturing Equity grant partner that utilized our funding for general operating support — to advance its mission to restore and preserve African American historical sites. Through a holistic preservation model, the Foundation has created a self-sustaining Living Museum that honors African American culture, enriches tourism, fosters education, generates jobs, and supports youth development.
Recent funding has fueled new exhibits, educational initiatives, and strategic partnerships. The Magnolia House Foundation continues to expand its reach through community engagement, education, and cultural enrichment:
- Serving 11,450 visitors annually, attracting diverse audiences from students to retirees.
- Expanding educational opportunities through immersive virtual reality experiences.
- Enhancing cultural programming with new exhibits and artistic initiatives.
- Strengthening board leadership and nonprofit management.
- Increasing collaboration with colleges and universities to foster historical education.
- Growing revenue by 30% to ensure long-term sustainability.
- Supporting local artists and expanding artistic programming to enrich the community.
