Mustard Seed Community Health holistically serves the health needs of families in East Greensboro regardless of their background, insurance status or financial means, ensuring everyone receives the care they deserve.
Over 10 years, Mustard Seed has grown from a one-day a week primary care clinic to five-days a week health center with a Health Outreach Team and community offerings that includes art and cooking classes as well as healthy food distribution. Last year, 450 households were served by the Health Outreach Team and over 600 households received medical services from Dr. Beth Mulberry, medical director and founder.
As a 2023 Nurturing Equity Grantee Partner, Mustard Seed Community Health adapted a national care model into “Together We Grow” to provide the east Greensboro community opportunities to address several social determinants of health: housing and utilities, food insecurity, transportation, personal safety, education, employment, finances, and language. More than 70 percent of the population Mustard Seed serves is Hispanic/Latino with a growing immigrant and refugee population.
“We are seeing that addressing health disparities with medical care and wrap-around services, like transportation and food delivery, has a significant impact on the health of our community,” said Christine Odom Ringuette, Executive Director.
